Within the project, CEDES team, supported by six partner municipalities, Konjic, Jablanica, Prozor-Rama in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the municipalities of Žabljak, Šavnik, and Pljevlja in Montenegro, as well as public utility companies, developed Waste Management Plans. The plans offered technical and financial solutions to establish sustainable waste management systems in each of the municipality. Waste management plans also contain Action Plans, with a clear indication of the necessary financial resources, responsible institutions for implementation, and a time frame. The plans envisage establishing a body to monitor the waste management system in each of the partner municipalities.
The project “Joint efforts for 5% Less Waste” is implemented within the Cross-Border Cooperation Program Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro, funded by the European Union in the amount of almost EUR 500,000, and implemented by the Entrepreneurship and Business Association LiNK (BiH) in partnership with the Municipality Jablanica (BiH), the Municipality of Šavnik (Montenegro), and the Pčelarskim udruženjem Matica, Pljevlja (Montenegro).
